Song lyrics: “I Know It Must Be Killing You to Watch the Tigers Eat Their Young”
This town has its secrets
and it keeps them very well.
Go along to get along
and promise not to tell.
I know it must be killing you
to watch the tigers eat their young.
But go along to get along
means forever hold your tongue.
A daughter’s heel is missing
and a stranger’s walking free.
“Move along, move along, move along,
there’s nothing here to see.”
Some people have their trophies
and they keep them stashed away.
But “Move along, move along, move along,”
is all there is to say.
(Instrumental break)
This town has its secrets
and you’re learning very well.
You go along, you get along,
forget that thing they made you sell.
That’s how the game’s been played here
since long before the Flood.
It’s not so bad when you look beyond
the whiskers and the blood.
